Collingham Village Gala June 2010
On Saturday June 26th and Sunday June 27th 2010, we held the Village Gala in Collingham.
Some of the hardier souls camped out over night on the Saturday and helped set up the gazebos and tents ready for the Gala on Sunday - fortunately it didn't rain and the weather was mild!
Gala activities on Sunday started with an open-air service led by Rev Maria Pallas and accompanied by the village wind band, St Oswald's Church Choir and contemporary Singing Group.
A crack team of volunteers prepared a delicious barbecue for the villagers, and we were entertained by the police dogs from Wetherby.
Funds for good causes were raised by sales of items including books, refreshments and bric-a-brac, and entertainment included a bouncy slide, beat-the-goalie, a series of impressive performances by the Sharon Ellis School of Dance and local band The Librarians.
